Now playing; All Time Low- The Wanted.
‘HEY!’ Amber yelled from behind me. ‘Don’t skip The Wanted!’
‘Why? They’re shit!’ I protested. She reached her hand into the bag of skittles and lanched a handful in my direction, but failing to hit me. She glared at me, but I knew she loved me really.
Amber was my little sister. She was only 12, I was 19, but we were really close. We disagreed on a lot of things though, just like all sisters do. For example, she liked The Wanted, but I didn’t see what was so great about them. They were just another boyband.
She looked down at her laptop, her face dropped and she looked as if she was about to cry.
‘What’s up dollface?’ I asked in a strange accent in attempt to cheer her up slightly.
‘Freya just tweeted me. She can’t come to see The Wanted anymore!’ She sighed.
‘What!? Why not?’ I asked, trying not to laugh at her getting so worked up over a shitty little boyband.
‘Her gran died or something.’ She rolled her eyes, tipping the bag of skittles upside down realising it was empty.
‘Amber! That’s harsh! Look, I’ll come with you if you want. Only because I’m your sister.’ I sat up on the sofa and put my arm around her. She looked up at me, her eys wide, a mixture of happiness and shock.
‘Really?! You’d do that for me?! That’s why you are my favourite sister, Kelsey.’ She squealed, before wrapping her arms around me, nearly knocking me onto my side.
‘Er, I’m your only sister..’ I laughed, pushing her off of me.
I regretted agreeing to go with Amber on the night of the concert. Turns out she had VIP backstage passes, so I had to meet them as well as sit through their music. We waited for about half an hour in line to meet them, fangirls everywhere. They were doing my head in.
Eventually it was our turn. Amber went crazy. She had ‘Nathan’ written across her forehead and a top saying ‘Nathan is my boyf’. I think she made it quite clear who her favourite was. I stared at them, there was one messy haired, pale, geeky-looking lad, who I couldn’t help but feel attracted to.
‘Hello there!’ The small one with the hat said, pulling Amber into a cute hug. I could tell he was Nathan by the way Amber blushed and giggled afterwards. ‘What’s your name?’
‘Amber!’ She said, before giggling extatically again.
‘Aw, you’re well cute. And you are?’ The messy haired one asked.
Speak, Kelsey, Speak! Any words will do, just speak.
He tilted his head, looking confused.
‘Hnnnnng..’ I mumbled.
‘Er, sorry?’ He asked, looking even more confused.
‘Kelsey! My name’s Kelsey!’ I finally snapped out of my little moment and words came from my mouth.
‘Nice to meet you, Kelsey.’ He held his hand out for me to shake.
‘Nice to meet you too..’ I giggled stupidly, shaking his hand back. I was expecting Amber to have said something by now, she usually gets all chatty when she’s excited. I glanced over at her standing next to Nathan, her face was all sweaty and pale.
‘Amber, you alright?’ I asked her. She was breathing really heavily now. She shook her head at me, before her eyes closed and she fell to the ground. ‘Amber?!’
‘Woah, can we get a medic or something here please?!’ Nathan shouted, not at anyone in particular. The rest of the boys had crowded round her, all looking genuinley concerned. About a minute later, a young-ish man was pushing past them with a small medical bag in his hand.
‘Alright, what’s happened here?’ He asked, not waiting for an answer. ‘You a relative?’ He looked at me. I nodded back at him.
‘I’m her sister.’ I told him. ‘Her name’s Amber.’
‘Oh okay. Is she allergic to anything, or has she eating anything unusual?’ He asked. Before I could reply, Amber’s eyes re-opened. ‘Amber, do you remember anything?’ She nodded as she sat up slowly. ‘Okay, Amber, You’re going to have to take it easy. I would advise you to stay out of big crowds.’
‘What, no I want to see the concert, I don’t want to miss it!’ She cried. Her face wasn’t as pale anymore, she seemed better already.
‘If you want, you can stay backstage while we go on, I know it’s not exactly the same but I don’t want you to pass out again..’ Jay suggested. Amber’s face brightened up instantly.
‘Really? Would we be allowed?’ I asked, trying not to seem bothered, but I couldn’t help but be a little bit excited.
‘I’m sure it’d be alright..’ Jay replied, looking at the security guard, who nodded back, his face blank.
